Explora Biofuels
In early 2006, Endriven and a group of strategic investors created Explora to build and operate a large scale biodiesel plant. Explora is uniquely positioned to capture Argentina’s competitive advantages in the production of biofuels, provided its excess vegetable oil production, prime logistics and beneficiary regulatory environment. The plant will use soybean oil as its main feedstock and Europe will be its main destination market. The plant is strategically located at the heart of the world's biggest soybean-crushing complex, with over 2.5 M tons of oil production and over 3.5 M tons of oil export capacity in a 4 km radio. The Explora team led the engineering, procurement and supervision of the project, significantly reducing investment requirements. Explora is expected to start commercial operations in July 2008.
